After six months of debates with legal staff of the TENALEA Coordinators and input from the consortium members, the best effort contract model has seen the light. This contract type is important for the academic users of the TENALEA Randomisation service. It provides these users with a formal and legally viable service provision contract for the randomisation services.
 
Since its inception during the TENALEA Market Validation in 2004, the TENALEA service users have been requesting a formal contract for the randomisation service provided by TENALEA. The problem was that there was no legal basis for the service provision, since the Market Validation was focusing on validation, and not on use in production.
 
In the current deployment phase of TENALEA, such contract are key element. If the model contract is
