The randomisation software package ALEA, which forms the nucleus of the TENALEA Randomisation Service, is currently being upgraded to version 3.0. This version was targeted as a new major release - 3.0 as followup to the 2.2.2070 version - since it includes major new functionality. From a technology viewpoint, the most important difference is the .NET framework update. ALEA is now running under the .NET framework 3.0. The most prominent new function in ALEA 3.0 is eCRF, electronic Case Report Forms. This functionality will be reviewed by a few selected consortium members, and will only be deployed more broadly after this small scale functional validation.

 

during June 2007, the 3.0 version ill be reviewed by consortium member. During July, all current instances of ALEA will be upgraded to version 3.0.
